Description: Walt Disney Studio Library Mar. 1946 SIGNED Jesse Marsh Tarzan Dell Comic Artist The Walt Disney Research Library Archives from Saturday's Toys presents... a vintage issue of "The Studio" magazine from the Library of the Walt Disney Studio March 1946; includes original typed library card with rare signatures of two names at the historic Walt Disney Studio; as checked out from 1946 - 1951Jesse Marsh (1907-1966) animator for Disney and comic illustrator for Western Publishing, Dell. Projects included early Dell Comic books featuring Tarzan; Disney's "Make Mine Music"; PlutoDale R. Barnhart (1918 - 1996); layout & background artist for The Jungle Book, Sword in the Stone, 101 Dalmatians, Winnie the Pooh. Married to Phyllis Barnhart (1922 – 2008) of Disney’s Ink & Paint dept. Magazine is in fragile condition and exhibits signs of significant wear to binding. Cover is very fragile at binding. A worthy candidate for conservation as an original source document used at the Walt Disney Studio during its recovery after World War II. The library check-out card is in excellent condition with signatures of the artists involved. The following decade would reverse the studio's fortunes and create successes not seen since "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."
