It is mostly longleaf southern yellow new growth heart pine flooring. It was recently harvested from old growth pine plantations. The mature longleaf yellow pine is the hardest of all the American pine species, with a janka hardness of 870 compared to red pines 560 and white pines 380. The flooring is a solid 3/4" thick tongue and groove, kiln dried, has stress relief grooves on the back side, and comes in all long lengths, 7 and 8 footers, nothing under 4’. Longer lengths make a tighter floor. We guarantee no blue stain ever, blue stain is a defect that a lot of companies will tell you that it’s a seasonal problem and will pass it on to their customers, in fact it is just a sign of bad quality control, and is a cheaper grade of wood. We manufacturer this floor with traditional square edges, does not have micro bevels. All knot holes and most imperfections are filled with very durable epoxy putty.
