Vintage Bisque Nancy Ann Storybook Doll 152 Mary Had a Little Lamb Box Wrist Tag

Description: This is an all-bisque Nancy Ann Storybook Doll (NASB) from the 1940s with frozen legs and jointed arms. She is #152 Mary Had a Little Lamb, it's fleece was white as snow. She comes in her original, properly labeled box, with her original foil wrist tag, and cardboard neck and foot guards. The doll is in very good condition, and comes from the estate of her original owner. The bisque in great shape with no broken parts, no chips to the feet or elsewhere, and even coloring. The doll's face paint is lovely and all original. Her blond wig is full, uncut and in the original style with lots of wave. Her outfit is in very good condition. Mary wears a peach taffeta dress, with a pink taffeta floral print insert in front and matching bodice, giving an apron effect. There are vertical rows of ruched pink taffeta outlining the front insert on the dress skirt. There is an attached muslin slip under the skirt, and she wears little muslin pantalettes. The dress closes in back with a ribbon instead of a brass pin, which is how we know this particular doll was made during WWII when metal was rationed. Nancy Ann switched from pins to ribbon ties help with the war effort in the early to mid 1940s. Mary's wrist tag is original to this doll; the foil band is dangling on her left wrist. The part that was tight on her wrist at the factory has torn but could be carefully re-glued. Her original box has its silver foil label on the side. The box has light blue polka dots; it is lightly yellowed with age and has light marks, but is structurally sound and protects the doll well. Nonsmoking estate collection.
