He bought it when he was a young waterskiing enthusiast; he and his friends spent countless days carving up the Miami bays and waterways with his collection of skis, behind a fast mahogany boat he and my grandfather restored. Some of the hardware on this ski is newer, the front binding is OEM NOS black, the slalom toe piece is the original natural rubber color but is in marginal condition, and should be replaced if you plan to use the ski instead of just display it. Note: The heelpiece rivets were replaced with screws and locknuts in order to make binding changes easy. At 69" long and 7" wide underfoot, with a 9 1/2" x 3" aluminum skeg, this ski was the absolute ripper of its day, and will still ski very well for anyone daring enough to give it a go. It's definitely cool display piece for any waterskiing buff, or as decoration for the lake house. I have 5 different ones that I will be listing. They have been in his home for longer than I've been alive, and I'm going to miss them, but I think it's time they found someone else to enjoy and display them.
