Description: Original Mid-19th Century Oil on Canvas Portrait of a Girl with Lace Collar Antique, Used Original mid-19th century portrait of a young girl in a burgundy dress with a lace collar. The work is oil on canvas and has been framed using materials and processes of that time period. This back of this painting has since been professionally mounted and includes hanging hardware. The painting and frame have wear as expected with being this old but are in good condition apart from two spots where the paint has worn away. Please see the photos for a closer examination of these spots. The work is signed and dated 1883 but the artist was not found in any database as yet. This painting has been appraised and documentation is available upon request. The painting itself measures 16½” Wide by 21½” High. The oil painting and frame together measure 21¼” Wide by 26¼” High. The overall execution and quality of the work by this artist is truly impressive which has resulted in a lovely and charming 19th century child’s portrait. The painting does show some cosmetic wear and minor blemishes including some small areas of loss and discolored varnish which would be an easy fix for any experienced conservator. This is a lovely piece to include anywhere within the home or office and also a true piece of history. Please view all photos in detail in order to assess this item's condition for yourself.
