Description: The Redbreast Sunfish (Lepomis auritus) is without a doubt one of the most colorful sunfish out there! These fish display beautiful reds, greens, and blues on their scales. This beautiful fish is native to the US. Their amazing patterns in their scales make your aquarium filled with colors and life. These fish can be aggressive as they grow older and can injure/kill little fish such as minnows, guppy, small invertebrates, snails and other defenseless animals in your tank. A well oxygenated tank is crucial for the survival of these fish. Without oxygen, these fish will not be able to breathe properly and will likely die. This fish will mature when they reach the age of 2. When they breed, they will give birth to up to 1000 eggs! Although the survival rate of these eggs won’t be 100%, they do have a high survival rate at about 70-90%. If you plan on breeding, make sure the water temperature is from 70-75° to ensure fertilization. You will receive Redbreast sunfish that range from 3-5 inches from head to tail. In rare case of DOA. please contact us 1 hour after delivery. If message is sent past the 1 hour marking period, we cannot continue with the replacement nor refund. Refund or replacement is only given if picture proof of the dead fish IN the bag is sent. If fish is out of bag, Refund will not be given. Please be aware shipping cost is not refundable.
