CONDITION: Just Stunning! This pretty Fostoria American biscuit jar is a hard to find piece. It is in Undamaged Condition without chips, cracks, or mold damage. It has beautiful clarity. The plated silver handle and top is also in Undamaged Condition. It does have some dullness and slight scratching from age, but could be polished to a beautiful shine. American - Fostoria's No. 2056 crystal American pattern was introduced in 1915. This pattern was quickly accepted by the American public and soon became Fostoria's leading seller. The number of pieces in the pattern was expanded continuously through the years. During the 1920's color was introduced into the Fostoria line and some pieces of the American pattern were also made in color. The known colors of early American include amber, aqua, dark blue, canary, ebony, green, jadeite, lavender and yellow. Some pieces were also produced with ruby flashing. Later production included American in white milk glass, smoke, pink and red. When Fostoria closed in the 1980's, American molds went to the Indiana Glass Company.
