Description: This is a wire harness for certain Nissan electric power steering pumps used in various 2014 - 2018 vehicles. This harness uses factory connectors sourced from the factory supplier. The wire is automotive-grade GXL and SGX insulated wire rated for under hood use. The harness comes with 6 feet of wire. All wire connections are crimped. All our products are assembled by hand in the United States. All crimps are verified to meet USCAR standards for tensile strength. The main power connector has 6 feet of 6-gauge, SGX, red and black wire to replace the factory white and black wiring. For reference, the factory wires are AV (A=low voltage, V=vinyl insulation) type wires with a 10 mm2 cross section. This is equivalent to 6-gauge wire. The smaller data connector comes with 6 feet of 18-gauge GXL wire color coded to match the OEM wiring (brown, pink, and blue). These colors match the factory connector I have on hand. The pink and blue wires are twisted to match the factory twisted wire pair for the CAN bus signal. Note that the factory twist is fairly loose and our harness replicates that. Custom harnesses (length, wire color) can be made. Message me for prices and lead times. Custom harnesses are not returnable. This kit can be used to replace damaged wiring in factory Nissan cars. This kit can also be used to install a Nissan electric power steering pump in hot rods, customs, or other performance vehicles. Electric power steering pumps are a popular swap part for the performance minded car enthusiast. With this kit you aren't limited to cutting up and splicing junkyard wire looms or buying factory replacement looms. Note that this pump will not work without a connection to a valid CAN bus signal. Varius online sellers now offer digital controllers that uses the CAN bus wiring to provide full pump output, speed proportional steering, etc. making this an excellent pump for custom installations (see below). The pump pictured is for illustrative purposes only. Please note that this is a universal kit for the Nissan pump using factory-sized wiring. It is assumed that the purchaser and installer are familiar with automotive wiring and will follow standard industry practices.
