Description: Edgar Bishop (b. 1903 d. 1942, joined Hills 1917) Ivory and Gold Hill Frog with a gold ferrule and heel plate. There are two small cracks on the frog, which have been repaired. The rails on the frog run the entire length. There is mother of Pearl on the heel plate.The button consists of two gold rings and ivory. There is a Mother of Pearl eye surrounded by a Gold Ring. The original bow was made by Arthur John Barnes (b. 1908, d. 1945, joined Hills 1919 and did not make bows until after 1939). The original Stick was replaced. It is the unique personal model of Paul Callier, son of Frank J. Callier, well known luthiers and bow makers of Pasadena California. The bow, made of Pernambucco wood, is octagonal in shape, and weighs 88 grams. It has a larger than normal tip. The Head Plaque is gold. Given positive marks by some of San Diego Symphony's cello section, this is a unique piece with historical provenance.
