Shima's work mainly involving woodblock printmaking and often contains portrayals of horses. This piece is no exception. He has a very modernist sensibility that creates a unique take on traditional Japanese nature subjects. I particularly like the contrasts of colors in this piece. It is undated, unsigned and unframed. It comes tipped to the backing card along the top edge. Condition: The print and matting are in very good condition. Print has minor indentation in upper right margin. Matting has minor ink staining. Measurements: Print measures approximately 6.375 inches high by 4.5 inches wide.
