Description: This auction is for 5 unrooted pineapple guava/ feijoa cuttings. Native to South America pineapple guava is widely cultivated as an ornamental tree and for its fruit. It is an evergreen shrub or small tree up to 23 feet in height. The fruit matures in autumn, and the skin is green. It’s about the size of a chicken egg and sweet, slightly tart, with an aromatic bouquet reminiscing of tropical fruits, such as passionfruit, guava, or pineapple. The fruit falls to the ground when ripe and at its fullest flavor. The plant is a subtropical plant that also will grow in the tropics, but requires at least 50 hours of winter chilling time to fruit and is frost tolerant. The cuttings will be at least 6 inches to 8 inches long, about pencil width, and with at least three nodes.
